Ozernovskaya Creek is a tributary to the upper part of the Kirganik River, which belongs to the Kamchatka R. drainagbe. The creek is flowing among the mountains of the Central-Kamchatka Ridge, the "spine" of the peninsula. Our team of 3 was making a survey of the upper part of the creek valley in August 2011.
The harsh winter had come, and huge river is freezing over. This time a fishermen does not have much choice: either ice-fishing, or tying flies and dreaming on the summer. I like both. Let us start with fishing...
In Kamchatka there are several rivers named Bystraya which means Swift in Russian. There is no surprise in this as the big part of the Peninsula is cowered by mountains, and many of its streams are swift. The Bystraya which we are talking about flows to the east, into the Kamchatka River, which flows into the Pacific Ocean.
On the way home we have decided to stop at the upper part of the Raduga River. Here the stream looks differently: it had cliffs, little rapids, and larch forest at the banks.
The lake outlet is interesting, but it is time for us finally to get to the famous Azhabachie lake..
On the next day we had decided to go to the nearby Azhabachie Lake. The big water body is famous by its sockeye salmon spawning grounds and by "hordes" of brown bears.

First time fishing the Raduga River: char, trout, white-spotted char, grayling...
Kamchatka, Sep 2011. From Ust-Kamchatsk we go by motor-boat upstream, to the Raduga River mouth. Raduga means "rainbow"; we want to look for rainbow trout in the Rainbow River.
In September 2011 my friend Andrey Volchenko & I have decided to go to the Raduga River. First we went by car to Ust-Kamchatsk.
